1 Peter 3:20-21, KJV “20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ” 1 Pet. 3:20-21, KJV - Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

1 Peter 3:20-21, ASV “20 that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water: 21 which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ” 1 Pet. 3:20-21, KJV - Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 1 Pet. 3: that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water: 21 which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Introduction The salvation of Noah was a “type” of our salvation - vs. 21 “the like figure where unto even baptism, even baptism” - KJV “which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism” - ASV “there is also an antitype which now saves us-baptism” - NKJV “Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you” - RSV “which figure now also saves us, baptism” - MKJV “also to which an antitype doth now save us-baptism” - YLT We will compare the LIKE salvation of Noah with the salvation of Christians today! 1 Pet. 3: “20 that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water: 21 which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ”

THE GRACE OF GOD Noah Was Saved By
“But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the LORD” - Genesis 6:8 Today we are saved by the grace of God “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” - Ephesians 2:8 Acts 15:11; Ephesians 2:5; 2 Timothy 1:9 But, we are not saved by grace alone, as Noah was not saved by grace alone Noah Was Saved By Gen. 6:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph. 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Acts 15:11 - But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Eph. 2:5 - Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 2 Tim. 1:9 - Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began

FAITH “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith” - Hebrews 11:7 We are saved “by faith” John 3:16; 8:24; Romans 5:1; Hebrews 11:6 But, we are not saved by “faith only” - James 2:24 Noah Was Saved By Heb. 11:7 - By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. Jn. 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jn. 8:24 - I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Rom. 5:1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Heb. 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jas. 2:24 - Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Heb. 5:9 - And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
