2 Peter 1:10-15 Your Creator Why? He Remembered You! Remember Him Early On! Ecclesiastes 12:1 Luke 2:42, 49 Introduction A Christian’s life is one of remembrance. We must not forget the things God has showed to be essential to salvation. I. REMEMBER YOUR CREATOR, Ecclesiastes 12:1 A. God has Remembered You Psalm 8:4-9 – God has given us all things and made us a priority over all creation. Acts 17:26-28 – He has not made it difficult to know Him. God gives us life. James 1:17 – All good things are from Him. Ephesians 1:3-7 – He has given us spiritual blessings, predestined us to adoption. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 – God allows us to communicate with Him, for He desires all to be saved. B. In Your Youth to Avoid the Hardening of Years Ecclesiastes 12:1 – The youth generally tend to dwell on the here and now. The youth should remember their purpose and not forget that those pleasures are passing. Lest they grow old and not fulfill their duty because it was never a priority. Luke 2:42, 49 – Jesus remembered God from an early age. He recognized His true purpose.

Things To Remember Christ’s Words Why? Requires study! 2 Peter 1:10-15
It’s our instruction for salvation! Requires study! 2 Timothy 2:15 1 Peter 2:2 Heb. 5:12-14 II. REMEMBER THE WORDS OF CHRIST Psalm 119:89-93 – God’s words are important. They give life! He has given authority to Jesus – His words are life! A. Reasons to Remember Christ’s Word John. 1:1-5 – The word is Christ and in Him is life. 14:6 – Without it we can’t come to the Father. 8:31-32 – By it we are made free. 17:15-17 – It sanctifies us from the world while we live here. 12:48 – It is going to judge us. B. Means We Spend Time with the Word 2 Timothy 2:15 – Diligently study. 1 Peter 2:2 – Desire the word from the beginning. Hebrews 5:12-14 – Seek to progress from milk to meat. Psalm 119:15-16 “I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.”

Things To Remember Christ’s Death Why? Sacrifice for sins!
2 Peter 1:10-15 Christ’s Death Why? It’s the reason we have hope! Sacrifice for sins! Romans 5:6-11 Hebrews 9:22; 10:4, 10, 18 III. REMEMBER THE DEATH OF CHRIST. A wonderful gift that we must remember daily – Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” A. As the Sacrifice for Our Sins Galatians 1:3-4 – By His death he delivered us from the present evil age. Colossians 1:13-14 – God delivers us from darkness into His kingdom. This is possible because of Christ’s death. Romans 5:6-11 – Through His death and blood we are justified. Our sins are forgiven. B. As the Only Means of Remission of Our Sins Hebrews 9:22; 10:4, 10, 18 – Christ’s blood is the only blood that could accomplish this. His sacrifice is sufficient. Now that He did what He did, there is no need for more sacrifices. C. Lord's Supper Helps – 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 – It is important to be there to participate in this. Conclusion 1. Always remember the truth we have received and by which we are established. In a sense we are established by remembrance. God has given us the bible so we can remember these things as we live. They help us get to heaven. 2. Keep God and His will constantly in mind.
