Important things you need to know
Fire evacuation The centre has clear procedures for evacuations in case of emergencies, familiarise yourself with them There are guidelines in rooms for exit routes Noticeboards Notice them! All centres and most classrooms have noticeboards with key College information including safeguarding and the prevent duty

The College is committed to promoting British values as required by Government British values are defined as "democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs", This means promoting respect for all cultures and creeds and demonstrating tolerance This applies to all who work and study at Sutton College The College actively promotes diversity and requires all to follow this commitment

The Government’s ‘Prevent’ strategy aims to stop people being radicalised.
If you have concerns that someone is being radicalised, you should inform your tutor immediately and provide an account of what you have heard or seen.

Be SMART Safety - Do not give your home address, phone number or personal to other students. Meetings - Take care when arranging to meet fellow students outside the College. Acceptable - Sutton College expects students to behave in a way that is in keeping with the College’s PRIDE values. Respect - It is important to respect staff and fellow students while at the college. Tell - If the behaviour or comments of another student make you feel uncomfortable.

Three ‘Golden Rules’ of E-Safety
Keep your personal details private. Do not give out your Sutton College VERA password or share your Online Enrolment Account details with anyone else. Remember to ‘Log-Out’ whenever you have accessed your account. Think about what you say or publish online and on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc).

All of your personal data we collect is treated in strict confidence and dealt with in accordance with Data Protection Act 2018, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To ensure that the service you receive is effective, we may need to share your information with our partner organisations. This data sharing, among other things, supports our funding and financial planning, performance monitoring, and enables us and our partners to produce statistics and research. We also collect at the end of the course which determines the destination of learners to fulfil our funding contracts and also to identify any need for improvements to our services.
