Skills used: discussion, negotiation, teamwork Work in groups of 4. You will receive a sealed box containing a secret. The secret could be positive or negative, just like the results that you might get after taking a genetic test. Would you open the box or not? You now have a few minutes to discuss with the other group members how they voted and why. Use the questions below to help you. What different genetic inherited diseases exist and what effect do they have? What other aspects of our health and wellbeing may be inherited? Why might people choose to take a genetic test? What are the potential advantages/disadvantages of taking a genetic test What could be the consequences? Will your group open the box or not?
