5 Maintain and continue to improve each student’s academic achievement and performance
With a unified effort from students, staff and parents/guardians, seek continuous improvement on all NYS Assessments 3-12 Systemically gather and analyze data to inform/adjust our instructional practices Improve the literacy skills of all students with focus on those students who score low on state exams, especially students with disabilities

6 2. Maximize all resources including financial and personnel
Systematically maintain and enhance the district infrastructure through the prudent use of state aid and capital project and reserve funds Reinvent and enhance the district website

7 3. Maintain and promote a safe and welcoming school environment
Improve participation and the effectiveness of all grant programs with an emphasis on the 21st Century Program Through the work of established building and district safety committees, continue to enhance student and staff safety by reviewing policies and procedures and implementing recommendations

8 4. Improve and enhance effective communication and public relations to the benefits of all students, parents, and the community at large Improve and enhance timely and meaningful communication with parents Meaningfully incorporate the work of the Cultural Competency Committee in the district

Support and contribute to the personal development of all students, staff, parents & the community at large Develop a “Professional Development Plan” framework and inform staff of its key components Begin to plan, develop and implement a Community Education Program in partnership with the Lyons Community Center Strongly encourage all students to participate in co-curricular activities

14 CDEP Committee Charges
Analyze current drop-out trends and conduct research to develop strategies and programs designed to support student success towards “On-Time” High School Graduation.    Through the continuous monitoring and implementation of the new district Wellness Policy, the Wellness Committee will continue to promote the student and staff health and well-being. Research and review various Safety technologies and make recommendations as to how the school district may utilize these technologies to keep the students, faculty and staff safe.

15 CDEP Committee Charges
Examine how Technology is utilized instructionally throughout the district and make recommendations as to how it can be further utilized to enhance student performance Analyze the data from the recent Risk and Protective Survey and make recommendations as to how this information can be utilized by the school district and school community Give specificity to the amount of credit granted to a range of district approved Professional Development opportunities that will enable our staff to meet New York State requirements as well as raise their level of performance

16 CDEP Committee Charges
The Response to Intervention (Special Education) Committee will review the regulations regarding RTI and recommend a plan of action for the implementation of this process. The Cultural Competency Committee will create a formal school/community partnership that will serve as liaison between the school and parents.  The role of this partnership will be to serve as a neutral facilitator. Through the systematic Gathering and Analyzing of Data, assist district staff in the modification and adjustment of instructional practices

17 Committee Membership All Members of last year’s CDEP Committee will be asked to join a sub-committee or the steering committee Recruiting additional committee members may be necessary - School Community Members - Faculty and other Staff

18 Steering Committee Charge
Through the monitoring of the work of the 9 CDEP Sub-Committees, seek to broaden the definition of student achievement and accountability in a manner that promotes the development of children who are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
