3. Standards Covered Today
ELAGSE9-10SL4: Present information, findings, and supporting evidence clearly, concisely, and logically such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning and the organization, development, substance, and style are appropriate to purpose, audience, and task.
ELAGSE9-10W7: Conduct short as well as more sustained research projects to answer a question (including a self-generated question) or solve a problem; narrow or broaden the inquiry when appropriate; synthesize multiple sources on the subject, demonstrating understanding of the subject under investigation.
ELAGSE9-10W10: Write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of tasks, purposes, and audiences.

4. Presentation Guidelines
Absolutely no phones allowed during presentations.
No inappropriate comments or jokes.
No talking to a neighbor during presentations.
No sleeping.
Make eye contact with the presenter.
Show interest in what presenter is saying.
Hold all questions until the very end.
Take everything off your desk except for a sheet of paper & a pen/pencil.
Engage & enjoy! 

5. At the end of each presentation, we will write the presenter a thank you note that will include the following:
One thing you found interesting/cool about the presentation
One thing you learned about the presenter
One thing the presenter could improve upon for the next presentation (i.e. eye contact, projecting his/her voice, making use of the space in the front of the room, etc).

6. Homework due August 12th by 11:59 p.m.
In 500 words, reflect on your presentation today. Use the following questions as a guide for your writing:
What went well? Be specific.
Do you feel you made eye contact with the audience? Why or why not?
Do you feel like the audience was engaged in your presentation? How do you know?
What could you improve about your public speaking abilities?
What are your presentation goals for this school year?
What can you do to achieve these goals?
How can I assist in helping you achieve these goals?
