2. Chapter 3.3 – Displaying Data
There are three main types of data that we’ll look at:
1. Categorical Data
2. Continuous Data
3. Discrete Data

3. 1. Categorical Data
Categorical data is data that are types rather than numbers.

4. For example, colours or types of cars would be categorical data.

5. Categorical data are often displayed using bar graphs or circle graphs.

6. 2. Continuous Data
Continuous data is numerical data that can have any value within a finite or infinite interval.

7. For example, the heights of students in your class would be continuous data.

8. Continuous data are often displayed using line graphs or histograms.

9. 3. Discrete Data
Discrete data is numerical data that are distinct and can be counted.

10. For example, the number of students who like rice would be discrete data.
