Notecard time!!!! Take out the notecard you were handed when you walked into the room. On the LINED side you should write your OFFICIAL name (what the school calls you). On the blank side, write the name you preferred to be called. Colored pencils are available if you would like to be artistic, but you can be as simple as you would like. Take your time – I’ll collect this from you as you exit today

Mental Map of the World and the US
Take about 10 minutes and draw a map of the US and of the World from memory. What will you NEED to know by the end of the year?!? Pay attention as this will help you in our competition! Now can you put the world together?!! Work together! Winner, Winner . . .

If 100 people lived on the earth We will watch this video twice. The first time, just watch. The second time, consider the questions in the Do Later #2. Do Later #2: What is 1 statistic that really surprised you? Why? Make 1 prediction from 1 of the statistics In looking at the statistics, what is one problem that could arise in the future? Where are these countries that: have low life expectancy, that spend less than $2 a day, that do not have internet . . . How much money do you spend a day?
