1 Why are gases compressible?
Aim: What is the relationship between TEMPERATURE and VOLUME of a CONFINED gas? (and review for final Wed!!) Essential questions: Why are gases compressible? Predict what would happen to the size of a balloon if the gas inside was heated. Explain observations relating to “balloon on hot plate demo.” Describe relationship between temperature of a confined gas and its volume. Why does the mass, and therefore the number of particles, remain constant even though temperature and volume may be changing? Explain.

2 Compare and contrast elements, compounds and mixtures.
Aim: What is the relationship between TEMPERATURE and VOLUME of a CONFINED gas? Review for test!! Compare and contrast elements, compounds and mixtures. Distinguish between endothermic and exothermic reactions. How to solve calorimetric problems? How to interpret heating curves? What is the relationship between pressure and volume of a confined gas?
