Way Forward for
Paradigm shifts are needed to address issues of importance – the world is changing.
For example, brick and mortar stores (i.e. showrooms for AMAZON), restaurants and movie theaters are experiencing economic stress due to a decrease in customers. However, some of these enterprises are making successful adjustments.
- The ISSS must make successful adjustments. Changes must be done carefully to avoid altering valid approaches.

We will employ a strategic approach that will help focus our efforts
Increased membership both individual and corporate and financial stability are the key objectives for the near term
There are many good ideas for change, the key objectives will help focus our efforts on a subset of identified changes that can actually be achieved with the available volunteer resources

Way Forward for
Paradigm shifts that are in progress
EC meetings will be held monthly and voting will primarily be done electronically, this will allow the EC members to be more efficient and give them a better opportunity to solve strategic issues.
The EC will assume the planning, management and operational control of the ISSC.
An effort is being made to strengthen the JSS editorial board. This is to help the journal and possibly assist in reviewing conference papers.
We will investigate alignments with entities such as Arizona State University and industry funded projects.
