Response Journal Should be typed. I will accept neatly written if printing is a hardship, but you should become accustomed to keeping your work on Google Drive. (In a pinch, I can print it for you if you have it on Drive.)

Why “Journal” Response?
NOT a “Dear Diary” exercise DOES NOT mean lose all formality (in general, avoid “I think” or “I feel” in any kind of analysis). DOES MEAN that I am focusing more on CONTENT than on MECHANICS. (Translation: quality of thought counts over grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.)

What should be covered? What are three of your most significant observations? Why? To whom does the article appeal most? Identify the intended audience. Rhetorically, is the appeal most abundantly to ethos, pathos, or logos? Is there a balance? What is the overall tone of the article?

Is there a sense of any controversy in your findings? If so, what two forces are posed against one another? Wrap it up with your final beliefs, opinions, etc. (Here’s where you can make it personal, but try to refrain from turning it into a rant.)
