Current situation Based on experiences from Bangladesh; Ethiopia; Myanmar; Nigeria; Pakistan; Thailand; Uganda and other DEWG members Varied levels of engagement in both providers and scope of activities Limited systematic assessment of public and private stakeholders, informal providers, and their potential Presence of national PPM guidelines and implementation plans vary across countries

Main issues/challenges to be addressed
Stakeholder/situation analysis of all formal and informal care providers Specific challenges in different settings (urban, rural and hard-to-reach areas) Recording and reporting from non-NTP providers & appropriate feedback Referral linkages Migration Documentation and evaluation of activities

Action oriented steps for NTPs
Conduct situation assessment and develop and implement PPM guidelines and country level plans Link PPM to information systems (R&R plus feedback) and collect data including child-specific data Resource mobilization for PPM More focus on public-public mix and workplaces and providers working with the poor and vulnerable populations Recognize role and potential contribution of patient community groups and informal providers (all stakeholders to be represented in national coordinating body)

Provider specific PPM guidelines Evaluation tools for PPM initiatives Document PPM experiences in different context Ensuring sufficient resources for PPM implementation (resource mobilization) Focus on Countries in early stages of PPM
