The be inspired project
Fiona Wilson Prints Fiona Wilson I create home accessories and prints using screen printing, riso printing and Collograph. These are sold in retail outlets in the UK , through my online shop and at art events. The vase arrived! Its wonderful! It’s a gift for a friend who loves pattern. Although I would like to keep it for myself! The be inspired project I applied for the scheme because I wanted to expand my network and have support to develop my business to become more profitable. The programme has been a great benefit, not only financially but my mentor has helped me to plan and create goals – which has definitely moved me forward faster than if I had tried to do this alone. I have a new range of products, I’ve discovered a new printing technique and I’ve been accepted to exhibit at 3 major art events this year. I have also met some great people and made some new friends and we have already made plans to continue to meet and support one another after the programme. My advice to anyone starting the scheme would be to make the most of the networking events and attend all your mentor meetings – its not often you get free business mentoring. Be brave! and speak to people, ask lots of questions and use your funding wisely. The Future for you. I will be devoting time to my business and pushing to get more stockists. I’m already seeing an increase in enquiries so I’m excited to see where this goes. I’ve also got plans for some more new products and a bigger studio space.
