Introductory presentation
In this first presentation, You will be showing off the best of yourself You will use a mix of old and new vocabulary to market yourself to a future employer of your choice. (Managing partner at a law firm, Head of […] in a hospital, the CEO of a company, the chief of police, the principal, etc.) Presentations will begin on Thursday, September 17.

requirements You will give a 60-to-90-second presentation in Spanish highlighting who you are. Your hope is to give a good enough impression that you get a call-back interview Your presentation will include: A greeting and a respectful way to end the presentation Your name, age and where you live At least three qualities (adjectives) that make you a good candidate. Elaborate on at least one of those qualities. (e.g., I am determined and dedicated. I take extra time to make sure I do the work right.) At least two things you like to do. One should be related to the job you want, and the other can show something about your personality. At least one interesting fact about yourself. Keep your sentences simple!

expectations This is a spoken presentation in a formal setting. Stay in character—laughing and goofing off (unless it’s relevant to the job you want) will cause you to lose points. Use what you know. You may need to look up a small amount of words, but don’t try to say what you are able to say in English. You can have an outline/notes on an index card when you present. The index cards cannot have complete sentences. We are working towards spontaneous interpersonal speaking Optional—you may bring one item as a visual aid for your presentation. Possible items include: a photo, a musical instrument, a past project, a trophy, etc.
