Most homicides, suicides, and episodes of abuse occur when people are using drugs. Many deaths by motor vehicle crashes involve a person under the influence

Impact of Drugs on a Fetus:
If you smoke, drink alcohol, do drugs, or ingest caffeine, so does the fetus All of the effects of drug use that a user would experience can be passed onto the baby; including risking the health and life of the baby

Babies can be born addicted to drugs, have to withdrawal, and experience ongoing problems with behavior, learning, and have developmental delays. Baby Withdrawling from Opiates

Impact of Drugs on Society:
Harm to others- including injuries to medical professionals from accidental needle sticks or contact with contaminated bodily fluids and domestic abuse Increased poverty for users and family of users Increased crime rates

Emotional toll on family of user
Drug labs can contaminate air causing pollution to the environment Drug labs can contaminate local water supplies and soils, causing health problems for local residents Summary
