How to get a good grade! Introductory lesson – 3rd December 2018
23
Advice from the 2017/18 Classes
“Ask as many questions as you can, regardless whether you think it's a dumb question because someone else is probably thinking it too.” “Try creating as many of your own examples of content yourself. I felt I learnt the content better when I forced my self to apply it to my own life.” “Use the past exams at the back of the study guide when studying for the test and exam, and also use flash cards for key definitions as there are quite a few!! I found these helped the most.” “Ask questions and apply yourself! Even though there is ALOT of content, in the end it’s so worth putting in extra effort to get those higher grades that everyone is capable of achieving, especially with Codsy’s help!”
24
Advice from the 2017 Classes
“Every lesson after taking notes, I would turn those notes into flashcards. It seems like a lot of work at the time, but it really helps you to remember the information you learnt that day AND you don’t have to worry about writing them all out at the end of the year/topic.” “Being an active part of our class discussions really helped me to consolidate my learning so I would highly recommend doing that as well.” “I would recommend future year 12s to utilise the resources you give them. Again, it seems like a lot of work at the time but there is no better feeling than walking out of the exam and knowing you did all you could to prepare - it’s a content based subject, so revise, revise, revise!!.”
25
Advice from the 2017 Classes
“Ask as many questions as you can and to contribute examples in class discussions, it helps you remember the content so much easier! Also to enjoy it, because psych is so relatable which makes it that much more enjoyable!” “Take time to work on how you word and write questions in test/exam situations as it will become second nature and make the exam easier.” “Also, for those who think it is, it is not a bludge subject. It is as hard as any other science.” “Take your time on your assessment pieces as every percent counts for the end of the year. Make sure you read the questions properly especially in the exam so you can get used to the way that the questions are asked.”
26
To summarise… Ask lots of questions during lessons! Get involved in class discussions. Relate content to your own life/real life examples Hand up DRAFTS! This makes so much difference STUDY before tests! Practice and Summative Plan your time wisely and be organised Catch up when absent (all info will be in the weebly) IF YOU TRY YOUR BEST AND PUT THE EFFORT IN, I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO HELP YOU PASS.
