As you come in, get a Chromebook and begin your 15 minute practice session on Membean.

2. Objectives
Students will continue working on style analysis and annotating texts. They will read a passage from the chapter “Nightwatch” from Annie Dillard’s The Pilgrim at Tinker Creed. They will read the passage twice together, then annotate for point of view, diction, connotative and denotative meaning, imagery, sensory language, figures of speech, syntax, tone, and theme.

3. Homework
Finish annotating “Nightwatch” using the questions on the worksheet through question 24. Do not do questions We will work on those in class together tomorrow.
Begin thinking about which story you’d like to use for your style analysis essay. You may use “Harrison Bergeron,” “The Lottery,” or another short story of your choosing. Be prepared to make your selection on Monday.
