What do you think… Statement 1: Level of agreement (using your polling tools to answer): Reasoning before reading: Did your level of agreement change due to the reading? Textual evidence (copy directly from text): A) Strongly agree B) Agree somewhat C) Strongly disagree Before reading, have students rate their agreement with a variety of statements and say why they think that. After reading, return to each statement and have students indicate whether their opinion has changed, and support why with textual evidence. Students should also write their responses for each statement on a worksheet or piece of paper so they can keep track of what they thought and how it changed after reading the passage.
