2. PURPOSE Meet and greet your colleagues
Share best practices during the planning and implementation of the Middle School Foundation Academies grant
Identify a problem of practice that you are currently experiencing, and receive feedback from our cohort group members
Present your implementation roadmap for Fall 2019

3. OPENING ACTIVITY
Line up from the “closest to farthest” distance from Sacramento.
Take out your cellular phones and go to the EFC website.
Questions:
1. What session do you plan to attend?
2. What are you hoping to take away from the session?
Introduce yourself to your colleagues by stating:
1. Name, district, position
2. A vehicle that best describes you, and why?
3. Answers to the questions

4. SHARING OF BEST PRACTICES
What are your major accomplishments as it relates to:
Element #1: Cal CRN Implementation in 5th and 6th grades
Element #2: Collaborative work to establish MSFA grant model
Element #3: CTE Sequence of Courses
Element #4: Four Leadership Seminars
Element #5: Industry partners to assist with work-based learning

5. CAROUSEL ACTIVITY Count off from “1” to “5”.
Proceed to your station with a Post It pad.
On a Post It pad, write down a specific, successful task that you have taken to address the identified MSFA grant element.
Engage in collaborative discussion with your group.
Move to the next station.
Repeat Steps #3 - #5.
The facilitator will instruct you to move to the next station.
At the end of the rotation, you will be asked to share an “Ah-hah” moment with the larger group.

6. PROBLEM OF PRACTICE PROTOCOL
P = Presenter L = Listener
P: Describe one specific implementation challenge
L: Ask clarifying questions (P: Answer them…)
L: Ask probing questions such as… (P: Answer them…)
“What might happen if…”
“What is your thinking about…”
“Have you considered…”
P: End with a brief reflection on the discussion
Switch roles and repeat

7. ROAD MAP Identify 3-4 key steps from your road map.
Illustrate your road map on one Powerpoint slide
Present your road map to the group.
