Changes of state (heating curve) Temperature
Thermal energy review (kinetic particle theory): It´s the energy contained in the kinetic movement of all the particles of a substance. Depends on: The amount of substance The kinetic energy of all the particles (which can be measured by the temperatura) Changes of state (heating curve) Temperature Definition: Measurement of thermal energy Scales Celsius: 0º - 100º based on water freezing and boiling point Kelvin: absolute scale. Absolute zero: no kinetic movement of the particles : zero Kelvin. = -273 ºC Farenheit: investigate and write the formula. Heat: definition: It´s the transfer of thermal energy from one substance to another Units: 1 cal = 4.18 Joules Joules (J) and kilojoules (Kj) Calories (cal) and Kilocalories (Kcal) Transfer of heat: Types of materiasl: conductos and insulators. Conduction Convection Radiation
