7 International System Safety Society
ISF Background Originally named the Intersociety Forum on Occupational Health and Safety, the group was founded in 1974 whose purpose was to exchange meaningful information and collaborate on advocacy among its member groups, thereby advancing a mission of reducing occupational injury, illness and death. Since then, its scope has been broadened to represent more than a dozen organizations representing thousands of individual practitioners responsible for administering professional occupational and environmental health and safety services in this country and around the world. The member organizations play a vital role in leading advocacy efforts involving diverse stakeholders in government, industry and labor, as well as with our “sister” organizations around the world. The organizations that compose the Forum are listed in Exhibit A. 5/8/2019 International System Safety Society

9 ISSS Participation in the ISF
The ISF has by far a predominant workplace safety focus Interesting to note some of the initiatives that could impact the ISSS, such as vehicle automation There are probably other valuable opportunities for paid ISSS participation/travel/etc. ISF may be a candidate for ISSS investment, but others warrant consideration as well ISSS can sufficiently support/participate in the ISF virtually 5/8/2019 International System Safety Society
