3 REGISTRATION TIMELINE AND AGENDA
Today Registration Presentation includes: PSAT Test HS Graduation Plans (FHSP + Endorsements) Personal Graduation Plans (PGP) Dual Credit Options (Academic and CTE) Course Selection Sheets Rest of the Week Individual Course Registration with Counselor(s)

4 As FRESHMEN, it’s almost time to begin thinking about taking a college entrance exam—like the ACT or SAT. PSAT 9 All current 9TH Graders will take School-day PSAT-9 on tomorrow January 15th… your score could make you eligible to exempt an EOC exam (Algebra I or English I depending on scores).

5 Foundation High School program 22 credits + endorsements = 26 total credits

6 Endorsements are pathways of related courses grouped together by interest.
Endorsements provide students with in-depth knowledge of a particular subject area. STEM Business & Industry Public Service Arts & Humanities Multidisciplinary Studies What Are Endorsements?

7 Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA)
Crosby High School students will earn the DLA by successfully completing: (4) credits in math, including Algebra II (4) credits in science At least (1) endorsement requirement All remaining curriculum requirements **A student must earn the DLA to be eligible for the top 10% automatic admission. 9 TSI Test All students must pass to enroll in dual credit courses
WHAT IS DUAL CREDIT? Dual Credit is the process by which a high school student enrolls in a college course and receives simultaneous credit for the course from the college and the high school. TSI Test All students must pass to enroll in dual credit courses

10 DUAL Academic Course Options – Lee College
SOPHOMORE DUAL OPTIONS EDUC 1200 – Learning Pathways KINE 1164 – Intro to Physical Fitness- OL ARTS 1301 – Art Appreciation - OL ARTS 1303 – Art History - OL SOCI 1301 – Introduction to Sociology - OL SPCH 1315 – Public Speaking PSYC 2301 – Introduction to Psychology - OL * OL= Online Course Dual Credit Summer school is offered at Lee College Courses will be posted in April

11 $125 per course per semester plus the cost of books.
TUITION – Lee College $125 per course per semester plus the cost of books. Students are responsible for tuition and the cost of books. Scholarships are available!!

12 1. Turn in the Dual Credit request form to the Next Level Center.
2. Submit the Lee College application and pass the TSI (or submit exemptions – SAT, ACT, EOC scores). 3. After all requirements are met, Lee College will enroll students in selected courses. 4. Make payment by deadline and purchase books (if necessary). Steps in order to be eligible to receive high school credit for a Dual Credit course ENROLLMENT PROCESS

2. Interested students will complete a Lee College application on February 27, 7:30am In CHS teaching theater. 3. TSI testing dates March 20, 7:30 a.m. March 27, 7:30 a.m.

14 Earn an associate’s degree and high school diploma at the same time.
Modified Early College Academy Start JUNIOR year Must have completed Algebra 2 Pre-AP Earn an associate’s degree and high school diploma at the same time. Full-time College Part-time HS MECA Classes are taken on SJC North campus. Transportation is provided to/from CHS.

15 Career & Technical Dual Courses
San Jacinto College & Lee College Start JUNIOR year Must be up-to-date on all credits Tuition paid by CISD San Jacinto College classes in the afternoon. Transportation provided to/from SJC. Lee College courses at CHS campus Students earn hours toward a career certification Industry Recognized Certifications Technical Certificate Program Associate’s Degree

MECA Off campus at San Jac Requires you to get associates degree Taking courses with other college students Requires ALG 2 PAP College atmosphere – online/Face to Face courses At CHS 4 periods Lee College On campus at CHS May earn an associates degree or take classes to transfer Taking courses at CHS with other dual students or online At CHS all day Online classes are in addition to your 7 period schedule
