The metabolic network of arachidonic acid in human PMN, EC and PLT
The metabolic network of arachidonic acid in human PMN, EC and PLT. Two pathways are responsible for the production of inflammatory mediators: COX‐2 pathway and 5‐LOX pathway. The metabolic network of arachidonic acid in human PMN, EC and PLT. Two pathways are responsible for the production of inflammatory mediators: COX‐2 pathway and 5‐LOX pathway. LTB4 and PGE2 are major inflammatory mediators produced in the AAnetwork. PGI2 and TXA2 are vasoactive molecules, the abnormal production of which causes bleeding and cardiovascular disease. The separate AAnetworks in PMN, EC and PLT can be found in Supplementary Figure S1. Kun Yang et al. Mol Syst Biol 2008;4:228 © as stated in the article, figure or figure legend
