Your Total Health Health- the combination of physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being. Gives you the knowledge and skills you need to take care of your health for a lifetime. Three main areas of health: Physical Mental/Emotional Social Health Physical Health Triangle Mental/Emotional Social

Physical Health All about how your body functions.
Having enough energy to perform your daily activities. 5 important actions you can take: 1. Get 8-10 hours of sleep 2. Drink 8 cups of water each day 3. Engage in 30-60min of P.E 4. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, drugs 5. Bathe, Brush teeth & floss daily

Mental/ Emotional Health
All about your feelings and thoughts. How you feel about yourself & How you cope with problems that occur in your life. Enjoy Challenges Accept responsibility for your actions. Control of your life Express emotions in appropriate ways Has a positive outlook on life.

Deep-seated sense of meaning and purpose in life.
Spiritual Health Deep-seated sense of meaning and purpose in life. This does not mean that you belong to a religious group.

Social Health Getting along with others.
Social network includes your family, friends, teachers, and other members of your community. Seeking and lending support when needed Communicating clearly and listening to others. Showing respect and care for yourself and others.

Wellness When your health triangle is balanced, you have a high degree of wellness. Wellness: overall state of well-being or total health Ignoring any part of your health triangle affects your total health.

Your environment includes The physical places in which you live. The people who make up your world. The culture you live in. Your environment is The sum of your surroundings
