2 Art Deco Architecture Art Deco Architecture also referred to as Deco is a modern art style that adds artistic touches to functional objects whether it was an everyday object or a design in architecture. Some examples are clocks, ashtrays, buildings, etc. Art Deco first appeared in France right at the end of the nineteenth century when well-known artists, architects and designers realized that the Art Noveau style which they had contributed to was increasingly becoming unfashionable and they needed a fresh new architectural style for the twentieth century. They created an organization called the Society of Decorative Artists and planned for a display of this new modern art that would spicen up the art world and was finally displayed in 1925 due to the beginning of World War 1.

3 Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs
The Art Deco movement was officially launched into action by the grand opening of this exhibition with more than 15,000 artists, architects, and designers contributing their work for display. The exhibition was visited by over 16 million people who not only viewed the displays but brought the idea of Art Deco into their countries as well making Art Deco into an international style that is still used and seen today all around the world.
