The Kindergarten Weekly News Writing and Handwriting
Header Type here! The Kindergarten Weekly News 9/4/18-9/7/18 This Week’s Theme: Our theme this week is colors. We will be singing color songs and doing activities to help students identify color works and we will be sorting things based on their colors. Math Module 1 Lessons Objectives: Write and order numbers 1-6, answer and make drawings of decompositions with total of 4 and 5, count 4-6 objects in vertical and horizontal and circular configurations, match number of objects with the correct number. Writing and Handwriting Writing: Journals (first stage of writing which is drawing pictures to align with prompt given by teacher. Handwriting: Handwriting Without Tears letters Letters for the week: U, V, W Reading and Literature Story: Platypus Lost Comprehension: Sequencing Amazing Words: platypus, lost, market, around, found, groceries Question of the week: How do families cooperate? Conventions: What we look like Sight Words: the, little, as Phonological Awareness: Counting words in a sentence and initial sounds and syllables Genre: realistic fiction Letters: U, V, W Decodable Book: Social Studies: Patriotic symbols of the United States

COLOR Week Please dress your child in the colors listed below for our color days. If possible please send your child to school with items that are the colors for that day so we can sort them and make a color collage.
