Freewrite Adichie provides us a discussion about “single stories” and the danger behind them… What is a “single story” that you are aware of? What do you think makes this “single story” so prevalent? Who or what do you think is missing from the “single story”? Share in groups of 1, 2, or 3 Each group will share out

Small Group Discussion – Round 1
How do you connect Adichie’s discussion to texts that we’ve read so far in this course? Which texts do you connect? Why or how do they connect? How do you connect the notion of the “single story” to ethics? To civic discourse? Each group will share out

Small Group Discussion – Round 2
How do you make connections between Adichie’s discussion of the “single story” and your own research process? How does this idea affect your primary research? Secondary research? Are there ways in which you see yourself falling into the patterns of a “single story”? What can you do if you notice that happening? What are some strategies to find those other stories? How can this connect back to your research process?
