Westmeath Sports Partnership is dedicated to the promotion and development of sport and physical activity in County Westmeath.
How We Do It :
We encourage and support participation in sport and physical activity by providing information, education and training and through activities and programmes. We develop, co-ordinate, and facilitate these directly or in partnership with other individuals, groups, clubs and partner agencies . We encourage groups to take responsibility for these programmes and activities so that they can be self-sustaining.
Brief History
Westmeath Sports Partnership was established in 2004 as a limited company and as of Jan 2019 we moved under Westmeath County Council. WSP is principally funded by Sport Ireland .

3. Club Grants 2019 - WSP Fund of €15,000 : Opening in August 2019
Who Can Apply ? Open to Sports and Physical Activity Clubs
What will be funded ? Proposals with a positive impact on participation levels
Criteria : Must be registered with National Governing Body & PPN
Award : Average grant €450

4. Go for Life Grant- WSP
Available to Clubs and Groups targeting Older people
Grant opens end of August and closes end of September 2019
Amount between €250 -€700
Three streams – Physical Activity Programmes, Physical activity equipment, Participation event
Clubs most have insurance and bank account
WSP can assist with the application process

5. National Sports Capital Funding
Allocations announced in – no call for new applications to date
Club/Org Must register with OSCAR ( online application portal) to be eligible and receive notifications
Must have Tax Registration Number (TRN) from Revenue Office
Application is an online process
Funding includes : pitches, buildings, lighting, non-personal equipment of a sporting nature.
WSP can assist with the application process
