CISD Graduation Requirements
Crosby High School students will complete the following requirements to earn a diploma: Foundation High School Plan with an Endorsement (26 Credits) Meet State Assessment Standards for (5) End-of Course Exams: Algebra I, Biology I, English I, English II, and US History CISD Graduation Requirements

Graduation = Earned Credits
A school year is separated into (2) semesters. Students are enrolled in (7) courses each semester. 0.5 credit is earned with a semester grade of 70% or better in each course. Fall semester = 3.5 credits Spring semester = 3.5 credits Example: English IA = 0.5 credit in the fall semester English IB = 0.5 credit in the spring semester Total of 1.0 credit for English I Graduation = Earned Credits

Endorsements are areas of specialization students choose to study.
To earn an endorsement, students complete a sequence of courses. Endorsements provide students in-depth knowledge of a subject. STEM Business & Industry Public Service Arts & Humanities Multidisciplinary Studies What Are Endorsements?

A student interested in becoming a teacher will earn a Public Services endorsement and complete the following sequence of courses: 9th Grade Principles of Education & Training 10th Grade Human Growth & Development 11th Grade Instructional Practices 12th Grade Practicum in Education & Training A student interested in becoming an accountant will earn a Business & Industry endorsement and complete the following sequence of courses: 9th Grade Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance 10th Grade Money Matters 11th Grade Accounting I 12th Grade Accounting II Course Sequences

A student interested in becoming an Ag Mechanic will earn a Business & Industry endorsement in the Pathway and complete the following sequence of courses: 9th Grade Principles of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources 10th Grade Agriculture Mechanics & Metal 11th Grade Agriculture Equipment & Design 12th Grade Agriculture Power Systems Course Sequences

Multidisciplinary Studies
Crosby High School students will earn this endorsement by completing any combination of electives and CHS graduation requirement courses. Multidisciplinary Studies

Advanced Academics Pre-AP courses are designed to prepare students for advanced coursework including Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Credit courses. AP courses, designed by the College Board, are college level courses. Students have the opportunity to earn high school and college credit upon successful completion of the course and AP exam. Dual Credit courses are college level courses offered through our partnership with Lee College, San Jacinto College and University Texas. These courses allow students to earn both high school and college credit upon the successful completion of the course.

Counselors Meet with 9th Graders for Registration March Course Verification Form Reviewed and Returned Graduation Plan Signed by Parent and Returned April Changes to Course Selections May Be Requested May Course Selections Completed No Later Than May 30, 2019 Schedules will be created to match requests as much as possible Registration Process

Course Selection You will choose one core class from each category:
English, Math, Science, Social Studies You will choose electives for (3) class periods. You MUST list at least (3) alternate electives.
