Christmas Eve Is celebrated on 24th December
It‘s a day before the birth of Jesus Christ, who was born at midnight – people usually go to church at midnight to celebrate his birth on midnight mass For dinner people prepare fried carp and potato salad Children expect the bell signal from „Infant Jesus“ after Christmas dinner to be allowed to unpack presents under the Christmas tree The whole day has special atmosphere

Habits and traditions People keep traditions and habits, for example:
decorating Christmas tree many people fast all day before dinner to see a golden piglet cutting apples hanging mistletoe to bring good luck

Christmas Day It‘s celebrated on 25th December
it‘s a day of birth of Jesus Chirst people usually go to church in the morning to celebrate his birth people visit their families and grandparents, children unpack another presents at their grandparents‘ there are many fairytales on TV – Cinderella belongs among the most favourite

St. Stephen’s Day it’s celebrated on 26th December
people meet their friends – they have parties in the evening Traditional meal is Stephen´s duck in the past poor people were going from house to house singing carrols to get some food it was also a day, when men and young girls left their homes to find a job abroad
