EYE DONATION IS NOT REALLY EYE DONATION. IT’S ONLY CORNEA DONATION. EYE DONATION IS A SOLUTION FOR CORNEAL BLIND PEOPLE ONLY.
Lakhs of Indians suffer from Corneal Blindness
Increasing at the rate of every year.
On an average around 1 lakh corneas are needed in India Every year..
Corneal Blindness affects mainly children and young adults who have a long life ahead of them. Malnutrition is one major factor.
ONLY 26,000 usable corneas were collected last year. POSSIBILTY WAS 2 CRORE CORNEAS

7. WHO CAN DONATE EYES… People who wear spectacles People suffering from:
- Diabetes
- Asthma
- High blood pressure
- Tuberculosis
Patients who have
undergone cataract surgery
can also donate eyes.

8. WHO CAN DONATE EYES… Age does not matter. Gender does not matter.
Families can donate the
eyes of their dear
departed even if it has
NOT been pledged before All religions endorse
the practice of eye donation -

9. EYE DONATION PROCEDURE
Eyes can be donated ONLY after death. Contact
nearest Eye Bank as soon as possible.
Eyes must be removed within 4-6 hr after death
A small quantity of blood is drawn to rule out
communicable diseases.

10. EYE DONATION PROCEDURE
Eye bank team will remove the eyes either at the
hospital or at the home of the deceased.
Eye removal DOES NOT delay funeral as the
entire procedure takes only min.
The identities of the donor and the recipient are
kept confidential by law.
