3 RoSA?

4 What is RoSA? Record of School Achievement, awarded to all eligible students when they leave school. A cumulative credential – recognising all academic achievements. Instead of just showing what student’s results were at the end of Year 10, the RoSA includes further courses they may enrol in and complete.

6 Constructing the lines
Students will undertake three elective courses. The lines are constructed based on: Online survey of student interest The need to balance the lines to match our diverse student population.

7 Online Elective Subject Selection Process
Year Online Elective Subject Selection Process Students should carefully study the Subject Course Outline Booklet and decide on the elective subjects that they would prefer to study in 2018/19. choose 6 courses in order of preference and enter your choices in the online survey. Survey is to be completed online via Complete survey by Friday 18th August 2017. Final offerings of elective subjects will depend on viable numbers of students to form class(es). The Principal has the final decision regarding all curriculum offerings.

8 Factors to Consider Courses are for 200 hours and continue into Year 10. Students need to chose carefully. Choose subjects of Interest and aptitude. Advice from parents. Advice from older brothers, sisters & friends. Advice from teachers.

9 What Not to Consider Are my friends doing this course? (they may not be your friend by the end of year 10) Which teacher you think may be taking the course? Is the subject too hard or too easy?

10 Future Career and Training Pathways
Do I need to study a particular course because I want to be a……… If you are interested in a career in a particular field and one of the electives relates to this field then it may be of benefit to study that elective. However, all HSC subjects have no prerequisites.
