Waste Characterization WG
OBJECTIVE To develop a provincial municipal Solid Waste Characterization Tool Kit to help local government, MoE and stewards evaluate stewardship programs.

Waste Characterization Actions
1. Determine criteria that prompt study Oct 2013 2. Continue to communicate with SABC about its commitment to MoE to create a waste characterization discussion paper (by the end of September) TBD 3. Establish a cost-sharing formula Dec 2013 4. Work with MoE to update guidelines June 2014 5. Coordinate with FCM and CCME 6. Monitor and compare results Dec 2015 7. Review and revise tool kit as needed Ongoing

Eco-Depot Design WG OBJECTIVE
To assist in the development of eco-depots for the provision of acceptable service level standards for rural and other areas of BC for EPR program implementation.

1. Assess RD interest and capacity TBD 2. Share outcomes with SABC Continue to communicate with SABC about its commitment to MoE to create an eco-depot discussion paper (by the end of September) and about SABC being the umbrella organization for all stewards 3. Inventory opportunities for collaboration

Stewardship Plan Consultation WG
OBJECTIVE To act as a clearing house for information during consultation on new and existing stewardship plans, and to facilitate informed input.

Stewardship Planning Actions
1. List consultation dates on BCPSC website 2. Alert members of opportunities for input 3. Call for volunteers to review and provide summary 4. Circulate the summary for member review and input 5. Decide whether to submit a formal BCPSC response 6. Post BCPSC response and any RD responses on website 7. Send out reminder one week before deadline 8. Forward BCPSC response to steward

EPR Policy WG OBJECTIVE
To support the continuous improvement of pollution- prevention programs.

EPR Policy Actions Create a spreadsheet including wording related to high-level vision, operational strategies, policies and ideas, minor vs. major amendments to plan, and recommendations Share spreadsheet with all members as a tool for use in the development/upgrade of SWMPs and related plans Review OCP and zoning requirements Identify mechanisms for pollution prevention once diversion goals are achieved

3. REPORTING TO MOE Update MoE during conference calls and other meetings Receive updates from MoE on a continual basis
