Conclusion Why is this important?
Would you recommend this work to anyone? What could the author/creator do to improve?

Creating Criteria In order to create an effective evaluation, you must consider what makes something (objectively) good/bad. Consider: what is the purpose of this kind of work (horror film, comedy film, hip hop record, etc)? When evaluating something, it is tempting to think “because I like it/dislike it.” Think beyond this—why do you like or dislike a thing? What criteria do you use that makes you like/dislike something? Convince me that the categories you choose are important.

Example: Horror Film Criteria
Purpose of a horror movie: To frighten! My ideal horror movie contains: Sympathetic characters Haunting imagery Tension-building tone
