Calling the office after hours is for emergencies only. If it is an emergency call the regular office number, do not call the On-Call cell numbers. Examples of Emergencies: Calling in sick, consumer not answering, emergency with consumer, or running late. These are examples of emergencies. Examples of Non-Emergencies: Asking about your schedule, getting directions, etc. are examples of things that are not emergencies and should be taken care of during regular business hours.

Care Plans… Follow CARE PLANS provided to you by Family Care.
If you don’t have a care plan for a consumer, call the office and we will provide one to you. Care plans are made for a reason, please follow them. If there is something that needs to be on the Care Plan, or you have a question about a Care Plan, please call the office. Remember Family Care wants your input, you are Family Care’s eyes and ears in the field and we need to work together.

Family Care’s General Policies…
Please remember to satisfy your consumers to the best of your ability, go the extra mile. They are the ones that decide whether to use our services or your services. The consumer may request a different aide at any time. Please refrain from taking in large bags, purses, backpacks, etc. into a consumer’s home. This may make your consumer uneasy about what is being brought in or out of their residence. Do not give out personal phone numbers to consumers; this may result in a written warning. If a consumer asks for your personal number, instruct them you are not allowed to give it out, but you can give them the office phone number.

Employees are required to provide Family Care with a 2 week notice of any intent to quit or said employee will not be able to work for Family Care in the future. In the event that an employee hands in their 2 week notice Family Care will try to find coverage as soon as possible. This means that Family Care requires a 2 week notice but employees may not have to work the entire 2 weeks, it will be based off of staff availability and coverage. Employees that are terminated or quit must hand in all materials that have been issued by Family Care. Materials consist of care plans, badges, communication books, and material with consumer or Family Care information on it.
