Joh 3:5-8 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit….. (8) The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.“

5. Regeneration–Definition
Regeneration is God’s act of giving new spiritual life to a spiritually dead sinner
What is spiritual death? (Eph 2:1-5; Gen 2:16-17)
Sin-corrupted nature
Desire for and slavery to sin and rebellion
We are all like Edward-our desires show our true nature
Edward is evil because he desires to eat Bella
We show our evil nature when we desire evil/sin
We need to be reborn, We need a regenerated nature—spiritual life (Ps 51:10)

Jesus died and rose again to give us new life!
Christians are born again! (John 3:3-8; Ps 51:10)
He gives us a new birthday, a spiritual birthday that lasts for eterntiy!
He is about transformation, not condemnation (Titus 3:3-7)
