Create Word Stem Flash Cards (65 total) Front of card Back of card- Four Square Model #32, Name on each [Word List #, Stem # on list] noun mal (Latin) [Part of speech, Stem, Language of Origin] Bad [Meaning of stem] Word and definition Malapropism- an act or habit of misusing words ridiculously, especially by the confusion of words that are similar in sound. Metacognitive connection Good punctuation means not to be late. (punctuality) *My favorite grammar related example of a malapropism. Using the word in a meaningful sentence A malapropism or humorous confusion of words that sound vaguely similar, as in “We have just ended our physical year" instead of “We have just ended our fiscal year.” Picture of the word
