Mrs. Padelford’s Penguins @Las Brisas! ~ Week of: September 17, 2018 R.E.D. Folders! Sight Words! The students have been doing a great job remembering to return their RED Folders each day. Have your child return it to his/her backpack after reading each night. Keep working on those 1st Grade sight words! Five words per week is a great goal. If you child is already reading all 100 sight words, please work on spelling and writing the sights words. EPIC! Upcoming Dates I am still waiting to receive a class account for RazKids. In the meantime, we are trying out Epic!, a free online program for teachers and students created to nurture students’ love of reading & learning. You should have received an to connect with our class. You can also connect for free at using our class code jlb4703 to see what your child is reading & find out how to access Epic! at home. September 17th – 21st Box Tops Collection THIS Week! Friday, September 21st Patriotic Assembly 8:00AM at the Flagpole EARLY RELEASE 11:20AM Thursday, September 27th Picture Day! Fri. October 5th – Mon. October 8th No School – Fall Break DreamBox We are using DreamBox, a K-8 digital math program to help raise student achievement. Please watch for a letter with your child’s login information as well as an explanation of how to access the program at home, either on your computer or iPad. This will take the place of written math homework. Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Read “Animal Park,” our story this week. Practice the story sight words, consonant digraph (th) and blends (tr, sw, gr, -mp, -nt, etc.) Login to EPIC! and choose a book from your Mailbox to read on your own or with a family member. ________ Parent Initials Read your RED Folder book(s) in your best pirate voice in honor of “Talk Like a Pirate Day!” Remember to complete your reading log.
