These changes enable establishment of the National public health promotion fund. The goal of this fund is to save a certain percent (it is half of one percent) ) of funds from excise duty on alcohol and other legal profit, and use these funds to preserve public health and promote related activities: prevention projects, social commercial/media campaigns, scientific research and other activities. There are such areas of these measures - alcohol prevention; mental health and suicide prevention; healthy lifestyle promotion. National public health promotion fund is established in 2016 and administered by the Ministry of Health and Council of the National Public Health Promotion Fund. Many alcohol prevention projects were financed from this fund in last and this years. There are more than one million euros in this Fund in this year and was in last year. I would like to note that the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, in order to ensure that more funds were allocated to support health promotion, social advertising and scientific research and other activities, from not only a certain percent of funds from excise duty on alcohol will be allocated to National public health promotion fund as before 2017, as well as funds received from the excise duty on tobacco, as well as from lotteries and gambling fees. In 2016 and 2017 (half of one percent), of funds from excise duty on alcohol were allocated to the Fund, i.e. The Fund amounted to more than one million. Eur. So, in 2018 The fund will amount twice than in 2017. Areas 2017 alcohol prevention mental health and suicide prevention healthy lifestyle promotion
