2. How to apply? Student goes to College and registers
College checks on MYNSFAS portal if student has eligibility status.
If student has a status message = student to complete bursary form and sign (NO supporting documents required as we have all information)
If NO status message = student will be handed a bursary application form, which needs to be completed and returned to college with all supporting documents for further processing
Students need to enquire at colleges 10 working days after closing of registration if funded

4. A Applicant with message
Type in ID number of student to establish if student has eligibility status.
If system provides status, that means student must sign SOP only. Application form to be completed and signed – no supporting documents required

5. Applicant without messageB
First Time Application - no eligibility status.
College will check if the applicant has all supporting documents and qualifies as per the rules.
To load application.
- Click add application and capture required fields

6. Ensure that you scan the signed application for upload
Complete all information as provided on application form.
- Upload scanned application form (both pages/ both sides)

7. Family details & Income Information
Complete all information as per application
Complete income information where applicable
Ensure that all necessary signatures are on the forms before submitting the application

8. ! Reminders College must ensure that:
Application forms are completed correctly
The scanned application to be uploaded on MYNSFAS portal
The form must be scanned on both sides to ensure that we have all the information
All other supporting documents to be stored in boxes provided and will be collected by Metrofile

Colleges will receive
Manual application forms for assistive capture purposes
Acknowledgement cards with duplicate file barcodes
Boxes with duplicate box labels
Username and password (Metrofile platform)
Handheld Scanners

10. Accepting documentation!
Accepting documentation
College will ensure that all supporting documents per application are stapled together and stored on a safe place.
The student will be provided with an acknowledgement card. Duplicate barcode will be placed on card and application form to assist with tracking of documents received
Metrofile will collect the boxes once notification is given to collect.

12. Metrofile collection from Colleges
College: Scan box label onto Metrofile platform (link will be provided)
College: Scan application barcode and capture applicant ID
Once box filled with processed applications, collection will be arranged
Metrofile will collect boxes and arrange storage
