1 Concluding Paragraphs

2 Five Steps to Closing Step One: Restate Thesis: Do not restate word for word Ex: In conclusion, based on the examples and evidence from the plot, characterization, and writing style, Twilight is a far better series than Harry Potter.

3 Five Steps Step Two: Answer any questions you have not covered in your body paragraphs Ex. Not only is Twilight the far better series, it’s a classic series that will long outlast Harry Potter.

4 Five Steps Step Three: Go over the main points you covered in your body paragraphs, but rewrite them in a fresh and creative way. Ex. Even though Harry Potter may have a better plot, it is very difficult to connect emotionally with the characters because they are constantly battling evil, where Twilight is a love story.

5 Five Steps Step Four: Put importance on your main point.
Ex. Harry Potter falls short because of its appeal to ages 5-15, where Twilight captures the older demographic that can afford to buy the books on their own.

6 Five Steps Step Five: Connect with the reader on some emotional level
Ex. Though Harry Potter has a fantastical plot, Twilight’s passion and compassion for the Vamps an the Wolves conveys feelings that we can all connect with on an emotional level.
