1 Causes of Female Infertility
FEMELIFE FERTILITY THE FERTILITY HOSPITAL

2 Overview Female infertility factors contribute to approximately 50% of all infertility cases. One-third of all infertility cases are due to female infertility alone.

3 Understanding the problems
01 Female infertility causes can be difficult to diagnose. There are many available treatments, which will depend on the cause of infertility. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. 4 Causes of female infertility
Ovulatory disorders – Common causes of ovulatory disorders are PCOS, premature menopause, excess prolactin or low gonadotropic hormones. Some of the acquired causes are excess loss of weight, extreme exercise, uses of certain drugs and stressful environment.

5 Tubo peritoneal Infertility
Tubal–peritoneal infertility – The functions of the Fallopian tubes are responsible for oocyte uptake and aiding fertilization. The tubes are also involved in early embryo development and in the transport of the embryo into the uterine cavity. Hence any anatomical or functional alterations of the tubes are associated with infertility. Pelvic infections increase risk of developing certain conditions which affect the tubal function. 75% 83% 42% 17% Endometriosis Lorem Ipsum Pelvic Inflammatory Diseases Lorem Ipsum Previous Ectopic Lorem Ipsum Pelvic Surgery

6 When to see the doctor Up to age 35, most doctors recommend trying to get pregnant for at least a year before testing or treatment. If you're between 35 and 40, discuss your concerns with your doctor after six months of trying. If you're older than 40, your doctor may want to begin testing or treatment right away. orem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Curabitur eleifend a diam quis suscipit. 7 Altered sperm migration
Oestrogens play an important role in the receptivity and migration of spermatozoa since pre-ovulation mucus promotes this activity to a maximum. The presence of antisperm antibodies in the cervical mucus, as well as of certain pathogenic agents results in a reduced in-vivo sperm motility. These are possible causes of infertility.

8 Unexplained infertility
Sometimes, the cause of infertility is never found. A combination of several minor factors in both partners could cause unexplained fertility problems. Although it's frustrating to get no specific answer, this problem may correct itself with time.

9 Uterine infertility Congenital abnormalities, intrauterine exposure to drugs, submucosalmyomas, polyps and adhesions of uterine cavity are among the uterine factors. Benign polyps or tumors (fibroids or myomas) are common in the uterus. Some can block fallopian tubes or interfere with implantation, affecting fertility. However, many women who have fibroids or polyps do become pregnant.

10 Sexually transmitted diseases
Many sexually transmitted diseases (STD) can be indirectly associated with infertility. The probability of ectopic pregnancy is high with tubo-peritoneal infertility. The use of barrier contraceptive methods helps preventing sexually transmitted diseases.

11 Thank you! Female infertility can result from age, physical problems, hormone problems, and lifestyle or environmental factors. There are treatments available to help address many causes of female infertility, and there is also assisted reproductive technology, such as IVF, that can help some women get pregnant.
