2 General information Course aims: Course Structure:
C1 – To familiarize students with the basics of the Unix / Linux operating system family.  C2 – To deepen knowledge and develop skills in servicing and configuring a selected distribution of these systems. C3 – To present to the students the capabilities of the Linux / Unix system. Course Structure: Lecture hours Classes hours

Linux OS installation. Introduction and maintenance of the Linux file system. Class 2 Maintenance of the Unix / Linux file system and console exercises Class 3 6 Processes Management, Unix Shell Basics, Environment, Variables Class 4 Input/Output Redirections, Filters, Standard Pipes and Stream Processing Class 5 The vi Editor, the Basics of Writing Scripts in the Bash Shell Class 6 Defense of the exercises

4 The assessment criteria and ways of verifying the intended learning outcomes
The condition for passing the classes is the student's presence, executing laboratory works and obtaining grades, getting a positive assessment for the answers on the control questions in each laboratory work. The grades for the laboratory work execution results - 70%, the presence - 30% A grading scale: 90 – 100% - very good (5.0),  80 – 89% - good plus (4.5), 70 – 79% - good (4.0), 60 – 69% - satisfactory plus (3.5), 50 – 59% - satisfactory (3.0), below 50% - unsatisfactory (2.0)
