Allows m/states to tailor their practices to suit their own circumstances but ……
difficult to do in isolation
need to share best practice and data
need to exchange information on specific cases
need to have informal practices to back up the formal ones (PED Arts 6-8)

Invites the Commission to propose appropriate initiatives in the field of …. market surveillance … to consider with Member States essential requirements defining the objectives to be achieved by the Member States with regard to market surveillance and to introduce in New Approach legislation a framework for the relevant administrative co-operation including the exchange of information among Member States ((b)1)
