Worshiping God When You Have Been Deeply Wounded

**Everybody experiences times when it seems life just falls apart.
**Everybody gets wounded in life – physically, emotionally, spiritually. **Everybody experiences the sour turns in life.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. (Job1:1)

Job 1:8 – The the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant, Job, that there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”

Job 1:9-11 Does Job fear God for nothing?
Have you not made a hedge around him? Have you not blessed him?

Job’s Response Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. (Job 1:20)

(1) Job shows us that it is better to worship God than to become bitter.

(2) Job shows us how important it is to be connected to God during a crisis in our lives.

(3) The experience of Job helps us to understand that in the darkest moments of life, when our faith is put to the ultimate test, we discover what we really are.

(1) Be honest with God and tell Him your heart, your hurts, your disappointments, frustrations, fears, anger…

(1) Be honest with God. (2) Depend upon Him for strength, wisdom, and for everything you need for each moment of each day.

(4) Look ahead to the reward God has for you.
