 Discuss any of these topics together for ten minutes.  When you have finished discussing, Fill in the chart at the bottom of the page. Conversation Questions What did you do during your last vacation? Do you have a pet? Talk about it. What are some healthy foods? What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten? Do you like Chinese/Japanese food? Do you like fast food? Talk about it. Do you want to get married? Why? When? Do you want to have children? How many? What do you think about Korean culture? What do you think about blind-dating? What do you think about computer-chatting? What are some types of pollution? What is the “greenhouse effect”? What do you think about overpopulation? If you could be an animal, which animal would you choose? Now let’s have a look at some oral self- and peer-assessment. This works through quite smoothly, but teachers need to be aware of what’s happening. Read Click Students are asked for their gut reaction. The amatuer ideal of the Olympics has gone. Is organic food really better than normal food? Does genetically modified food cause cancer? What do you think about genetically modified babies? What is true love? Does it last forever? What are the main criteria for the perfect lover? What are the main criteria for the perfect spouse? What are the main criteria for the perfect friend? Love is not magic. It is a two-way process. What do you think about fate? What do you think about religion? What do you think about politics? If you could be a famous person, which person would you choose? Follow the speaker!  Now assess your personal conversation skills on chart 1 on page  Exchange your book with someone in your group.  Select another topic or question on this page and discuss it together.  Assess your classmate’s conversation skills in his/her book (chart 2, page 269).  Exchange your book with a different person.  Select another topic and discuss it together.  Assess your classmate’s conversation skills in his/her book (chart 3, page 269).
