2 What is my dream and how can it help to make the world a better place?
STEP 1 Create an outline The outline will contain The speech's theme (I Have A Dream) Sketch out the points you want to cover Ask yourself the question: What is my dream and how can it help to make the world a better place? To create something, build, pioneer, change, help, stop, prevent something. For ex: the fight against poverty, discrimination, segregation, injustice, violence, war etc. Or the dream of creating something that will help and benefit someone else.

3 Step 2 Begin with an inspirational, true story
WHY? audiences relate on an emotional level when listening to a real-life story audience members will sometimes let down their guard long enough to hear your message if you have first appealed to them emotionally.

4 Step 3 Use quotations to emphasize your points
Quoting the words of a famous person adds credibility to your own words. Whenever possible, quote people who hold the same political, religious or life views as your audience, even if your purpose is to have audience members entertain a different point of view.

10 Step 4 Make three or four strong points
Repeat the central points throughout your speech, using different examples or contexts.

11 Step 5 Make a strong conclusion
Write a strong conclusion, restating your speech's purpose. Challenge your audience, and call them to action.
