Creating an Image Using a Text File

Images Images are everywhere and digital images can be created or stored as a series of numbers called bits. When you take a picture with a digital camera or phone the image is converted into a series of numbers computers can read and reproduce on a screen for you to see.

Have you ever heard “Everything is not just black and white”? By using more bits and coding for more shades of black an white, you can get many shades of gray.

Today you will create your own text files in a word processor and convert them to an image using the program ImageJ. If you enjoy this activity you can make larger more complex images and you can also create animations using text files. Computers are amazing!!!

Using ImageJ to find Functions
Use the Analyze drop down menu and Plot Profile to find the x and y point from the image and find the function.
