3 1- Alliteration Alliteration: Examples:
Repetition of initial sounds of words in a row *When two or more words in a poem begin with the same letter or sound* Examples: - Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. - The wild winds of winter.

Human hearts By Marinela Reka Honest hearts having hours of hope, harmony and health Heartbroken hearts happen to handle hurtful hours Hostile hearts holding hate, hopelessness and harm Helpful hearts helping humankind hit happiness Hilarious hearts having hassle-free happy hours

Repetition of internal vowel sounds of words close together in poetry Examples: - mothers- lovers. - I made my way to the lake

7 3- Consonance Consonance: Examples:
Repetition of internal or ending consonant sounds of words close together in poetry. Examples: - I dropped the locket in the thick mud. - The beast climbed fast to the crest

8 Example of consonance in poetry:
Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night By Dylan Thomas “Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray ” The consonance exists here in the words “curse” and “bless” and then in the words “fierce” and “tears” Thank You ,,,
