Compare the differing needs of group training customers Identify ways that group training can meet the needs of different customers Identify the main types of group training sessions offered by trainers and facilities Explain how to match customer needs to group training sessions offered by trainers or facilities

3 Exploring customer needs
Group discussion Do you have a gym/health club/other type of physical activity related membership? What do you use it for (e.g. gym, classes, swimming)? What classes are you most interested in and do you participate in most? Why is it that those classes appeal to you the most? What do you hope to achieve?

4 Group training customer needs
Timed paired task (five minutes) What are the varying needs of customers interested in group training?

5 Group training customer needs
Time Location Cost Goals Enjoyment/ fun Social Class style Motivational instructor

6 Group training classes
Research activity – split the class into three groups: 1. Dance/ exercise to music themed classes 2. Circuit/ general fitness classes 3. ‘Mind and body’ classes Each learner to research and identify local group training classes in his/her area and outline the following: Outline/ summary of the class Location Cost/ health club membership

7 Matching participant needs to classes
Group activity Tutor presents small groups with different scenarios, and each group must discuss them and which three classes would best suit each participant.
